Mount
Pelion is one of the most impressive and dominating mountains
in all of Greece. The Pelion region is itself, one of the most
unique and beautiful areas in Greece, combining perfectly the
sandy beaches and blue crystal seas with rugged and nature filled
mountains.
It
is said that the Gods chose Pelion as their playground, and when
you visit this magical region of Greece, you will be able to understand
why.
Pelion
is a very popular holiday destination for both Greeks and visitors
from around the world. And unlike many holiday destination in
Greece, Pelion is an area that is perfect holidays every season
of the year.

The
mountainous village of Zagora, located 47km from the city of Volos,
is the largest of all villages around Pelion, and is probably
also in the best location of Pelion, offering inspiring views
over Pelion and the Aegean Sea.

Zagora
was also one of the most important villages in Pelion in terms
of wealth and trade.
The silk industry was one of the main occupations of the villagers,
and with sea trade possible from the nearby port of Horefto, the
village was able to grow both financially and trade-wise.
Today
however, the main production from the village is it's famous apples
and pears, which can be found in stores and markets all over Greece.

With
the famous ski centre of Agriolefkes on Mount Pelion, and the
numerous beautiful beaches, Pelion is an inspiration to us all,
every day of the year. Whenever you decide to take your holiday
here, you can be sure of unforgetable moments.
In
Zagora, there are many interesting things to see, which offer
a fantastic insight into the history of our village. One such
place to visit is the old school of "Rigas", which is
known as the oldest school in Pelion.

This
school is directly opposite our maisonettes which we offer for
accommodation for your visit to Pelion. Rigas
Ferreos, the leader of the revlution against the Turks studied
at this school, as did other figuers of importance such as Anthimos
Gazis and Kallinikos Lapatis, Patriarch of Konstantinopole. There
is also the famous library of Zagora, which holds over 15,000
old books and papers.
Zagora
has a wealth of traditional mansions and old houses which are
well worth visiting. There are also several beautiful churches
which one should try to visit as well to admire the stunning frescoes
and icons inside. You can also enjoy several festivals which take
part every year.

swimming, there is the nearby beach of Horefto, which is just 7km.
Here you can enjoy one of the best beaches in Pelion, with it's
golden sandy beach and refreshing blue waters.
Pelion
has it all. The beauty, the magic, the absorbing views and nature,
lovely beaches, the famous ski centre, and so much more.
